Department of Justice Trade & Consumer Protection

Consumer protection is a difficult, fast paced task. Instances of consumer fraud are reported in the market place on a regular basis, while known schemes rapidly move to new locations. This creates a problem for legitimate businesses that suffer as a result of the actions of these perpetrators. The Department of Justice is charged with protecting both the consumer and legitimate businesses in controlling this situation.

With Centurion, Inc. Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology in place, consumers can inquire into the status and reputation of a business by touch tone phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Answers are available to questions such as:

  • Is there any pending litigation?
  • How was a specific case settled?
  • How long has a company been in business?
  • Hear current information regarding the latest marketing scams or consumer concerns.
  • Request complaint forms or brochures on various topics.
  • Chose to receive forms and/or brochures by mail or fax.
  • Query the status of existing complaints by transferring to the person assigned to the complaint.
  • Hear helpful Consumer Tips.
  • Get office locations and hours.
  • Transfer directly to a regional office via a menu of locations.
  • Transfer to a representative during business hours, or if after hours, leave a voice mail.

Each message is followed by options to repeat the message, make another selection, or transfer to an operator.  All requests for forms and brochures will use Form-Filler prompts for the caller’s name, mailing address, and desired topic. Consumers can also submit complaints when they choose, not just during office hours.

No ID and/or PIN numbers are needed to access this script.

Centurion, Inc. understands the needs of the caller and has developed IVR applications utilizing the latest technology in telephony communications and host computer integration.
