Callers can file their tax return information electronically, as well as address their tax payment and collection concerns. Features include:
- Listen to a message of eligibility requirements.
- Respond to step-by-step filing prompts by entering the requested detail from a completed worksheet.
- Calculate the refund or amount owed during the call.
- Abort the filing at anytime prior to requesting a confirmation number of filing acceptance.
- File any time prior to tax due date, but not have to pay any tax due until tax due date.
- Hearing impaired callers may file using Telephone Device for the Deaf (TDD) equipment.
The Income Tax Filing segment of this application utilizes a form-filler script and accepts touch-tone responses. Based on the Social Security number entered, the system checks for a previous filing for the current year. If found, a brief message informs the caller that a filing exists and if an amended return is needed, how to proceed.
The Tax Collection segment of this package utilizes a form-filler script and accepts Voice response, providing 24 hour informational messages and agent assistance during normal business hours. After hours calls are processed with a voice mail system. Callers can:
- Obtain their balance due and payment mailing address information from an agent.
- Make payment arrangements via a form-filler script.
- Hear an informational message regarding tax liens or warrants.
- Transfer to an agent for specific liens and warrants concerns.
- Leave a general voice mail message explaining a concern, enabling an agent to research the situation prior to a callback.
